Get Back on That Horse!

The chest wall is still a bit tender but at least I can breathe normally again. No time like the present to test out the old song, however I was a little worried about the take a deep breath part.

Fall has definitely arrived on the North Shore and the firm dry conditions of the last few months are nothing but a memory. Constant moisture means taking a bit of time to think about what to ride until the skills adapt to the seasonal conditions. Spring and Fall on the the local trails always lead me to humming a few bars of Bob Marley, to help with the focus.

The end of this riding season has also seen a spate of sanctioned/sponsored trail maintenance,  some of those trails have had new life breathed into them while others have just been in need of some renewed attention. Dales Trail on Seymour is one of those seeing a new life, while Pangor and 7th on Fromme have been in need of attention for some time.

Given my inability to  respirate properly the last few days I decided to keep it close just in case sucking on an ale was a better alternative than gasping for air. Fortunately every thing performed just that way it should, save for the stabbing pains when things got a little rough. I decided to forgo the descending D'Arenberg  that is 7th in favour of the wildman of the woods.

Not necessarily the best choice... But then again the rest of the ride was a combination of further ridiculousness that I cobbled together in further quest of that elusive 20km loop. It's so nice to feel close to normal again.

Further employment looks to rear it's ugly head again and the bike will not be making the trip this time which is a perfect time to get a little servicing done on the components that are best left in the hands of very capable professionals. Another adventure awaits on the other-side of this bout of labour though; Pretty hard to say no to a few days of riding in wine country at the end of the month. I'm salivating already.
